Information

Marston Thorold's Charity CE (A) school was founded in 1717 by Dame Margaret Thorold. Fifteen children of the estate workers in the parish of Marston were to be taught to "read, write and cast account", the basic three R's of the time.
The present school building was erected in 1861 and became listed in 1984. It has been modernised over the years and at present there are 62 children on roll.

The Headmaster

Thank you for your interest in Marston Thorold's school. We are a friendly, caring school having three full time teaching staff and 62 children. We serve the the parishes of Hougham and Marston and the outlying farms. The school has much to offer being a small village school. It has a good academic and sporting record.
